How do perpetual swim lessons work?
Classes and registration are ongoing, allowing students to start at will. Upon joining, you have committed to at least two full calendar months of lessons. Students remain registered until DSC receives a 30-day written cancellation notice
How do I pay?
The first month’s payment is due at the time of registration. All subsequent tuition payments will be directly debited from a debit or credit card you place on file. Payments occur on the 1st of every month.
Do you offer an evaluation lesson?
Yes! We offer a free trial lesson to all new students. This allows the instructor to evaluate and confirm the student’s skill level. It also allows the parents to evaluate our facility, the staff, and the curriculum. Give us a call to set up your child’s free trial lesson today.
Do I get in the water with my child?
A parent only enters the water with a child for baby swim classes—one parent per student. Baby classes begin at 4 months and end at 2 years of age.
Do you offer a multi-child discount?
DSC does not offer a multi-child discount. However, we do offer discounts with our commitment discount program and referral programs.
What if my child has to miss a class?
Don’t worry! We offer one courtesy make-up per month. Just be sure to cancel the lesson before the lesson takes place and then you will have up to 30 days to reschedule the missed lesson. Once a make-up is scheduled it cannot be rescheduled, made up if missed, or issued a new makeup. Students must be actively enrolled to schedule a make-up.
What if my child gets sick?
Illnesses happen and this could cause a student to miss more than one lesson in a single month or prevent you from rescheduling that lesson within the 30-day timeframe. Your child’s health is a priority. Providing us with a doctor’s note will allow us to grant additional make-up classes with one year to reschedule them, ensuring you don’t have to withdraw or lose a spot in class. A doctor’s note can also help expedite an immediate withdrawal if needed.
How do I take a break from lessons?
If you wish to take a break from lessons, a written withdrawal must be submitted a minimum of 30 days before the day you would like to discontinue. This can be done by filling out the withdrawal form at the front desk, emailing us directly, or using the Contact Us form on our website. Refunds will not be issued. You can transfer to a different class at any time. You do not need to provide advanced notice.
Must I stay in the building for my child’s lesson?
Yes, for the safety of all students, parents or caretakers must be present and responsible for their children. A child may need to use the restroom, classes may need to be abruptly canceled due to weather, or pool problems such as vomit or a fecal incident. Thank you for your cooperation.
What if my child is scared or crying?
If your child is nervous or crying, please take a moment to chat with the coach and then let the coach work with your child. Some children may suffer from separation anxiety, and this usually will go away after 2-4 lessons. Our coaches are trained to work with even the most fearful child. Practicing at home is a great way to ease anxiety and improve comfort levels. Bathtime can be bubble-blowing time, time to practice wearing goggles or floating in the comfort of home.
What if my child’s class only has one or two children enrolled?
Although we never want to cancel any classes, we reserve the right to annul classes with only one or two students registered. We will do our best to work you into another class so your child can stay swimming.
What can I find in the parent portal?
Through our Parent Portal, you may update your contact and billing information, enroll for lessons, review your tuition fees, and view your child’s skills. Click here to access our Parent Portal now.
Are you open on holidays?
DSC facilities are closed on major holidays. If your lesson falls on a major holiday your swimmer will receive a make-up that is valid for one year. Keep in mind that the make-up can only be scheduled while the child is actively enrolled.
